No, much of the acting wasn't very professional, but the heart of this movie and story made up for that.Some scenes were certainly hard to watch (and hear the sounds); but that was reality of those times.In the midst of bad one can find some good. I times of tragedy, one can see promise.Sometimes it's one person who acts in a way that defies "normalcy," and that can be contagious. Jed and Jack were quite the pair; they each suffered much, but each knew loyalty and true friendship.If one see this and doesn't learn something or isn't challenged to rise above one's circumstances, then he/she misses a blessing.Goodness God is even mentioned in a positive light; and the questioning of Him and His ways is okay too. But in the end, walking with Him gives more meaning to life.Louis Gossett Jr.'s narration added so much to this film; what a voice.
