I bought these for a camping trip and could not be more pleased with how they worked out. Despite their deceptively casual appearance, they're very well-suited to outdoor activities and I was able to test them in pretty rough conditions. Our 6-mile hike was quite steep and rocky, and it started pouring halfway, yet I had no trouble at all! These boots have some nice lift, but since the heels are slightly wider around the bottom, I felt perfectly balanced. They lace up all the way, so my ankles felt extremely supported, and they have fantastic grip without any annoying gaps on the bottom for pebbles to get lodged inside. Even in the rain, I never lost my footing at all, and my feet stayed totally dry. The textured laces remained firmly tied, and there are several reflective strips on the front and back for added safety. I was really impressed with how these performed all around.That hike was the first time I wore the boots at length, so I expected at least some blisters, but I was actually fine! I found them quite comfortable and true to size. I'm a consistent size 7 and they fit perfectly with just enough toe room. The insoles are pretty firm and they have decent arch support. They're pretty thick and hearty, so they don't breathe super well and can get a bit warm in higher temps. They're very versatile though, and I found that I can wear them differently and pair them with various socks to get exactly the comfort I need for specific situations.For the long hike, the boots felt great with the added cushion of my padded outdoor socks, and the moisture-wicking helped my feet stay cool. I also prefer higher socks when I'm lacing them up fully and tightly for maximum stability, just so they don't rub my ankles. For lighter activities, I don't bother with the top two hooks and just knot them underneath so they fit more like regular sneakers. That way, they're perfectly comfy with any socks for basically any activity. I'll even throw them on to run to the store! Ultimately, these function fabulously no matter what I'm doing, so I'll get tons of use out of them. They seem high quality and well-constructed, and I'm sure they'll last a long time.Very comfortable and cuteI work with dogs at an outdoor daycare and I needed something to keep my feet supported and warm during the colder months. These are perfect! They are waterproof, sturdy, and comfortable. I didn't even really have to break these in, they just felt great initially and get better each time I wear them. They're also very easy to move around in and they're easy to get on and off which is a big plus for me because some boots are so annoying to get on and off. My only gripe would be the laces are not my fave. They material is just a bit stiff and too textured for my tastes. I'd rather have matte flat laces but that is no biggie as I can just buy some. I bought them in black and the grey color so I can have one pair for work (they'll get super wrecked and stinky from the dogs lol) and one pair for home and going out and about. I'd definitely recommend these boots and rocket dog to anyone...they're great!I wear an 8.5. After reading some reviews saying they run big I ordered an 8. TOO small. Sent back for an 8.5. They are perfect! Wore them all day out of the box. I have plantar fasciitis and comfortable shoes are hard to find. Ordered another pair for the future ?I ordered my usual size but these shoes were too narrow and hurt to wear after awhile. Order a bigger sizeI do not have a wide foot. I actually have a narrow-medium foot which cannot fit into this sneaker boot.Incredibly, the boot is too long and too narrow. I wear a 8 1/2 in Rocket Dog shoes but this will not work in this style...they 're heavy, unflattering and have no traction underneath. I would not recommend this shoe!I truely love these boots and the price was great. Well made also. I usually wear a 6 but went up to a 6.5, so I can wear heavy socks in the Winter.
