The size is as described but feels huge and overwhelming in a crate, on a car seat or anywhere inside the house all of which I hoped I can use it in. The material is so hard and not pliable that we are not able to use it for our dog. The one side surface has a teflon like quality and texture to it. I suppose it blocks leakage but again makes the material hard to fold into an inviting bed for the dog.I would not recommend this product for a pet unless it's going to be used outside on some large area and you are willing to take the risk on which color combination you are getting.Love this; very well constructed & can be washed; could use anywhere; I use in my van---perfect for the dogsLater----I don't understand the negative reviews. Fits in my washer just fine to clean. It may get a few loose threads, but it's a DOG blanket & my 2 boxers give it a good workout. I even laid on it myself in the van to see how it was & I thought it was great. In fact, I'm about to order another for in their area in the house. I feel it's sturdy, thick & works great as a dog blanket. And, if you're worried about the color you get, you/re being too picky. I like mine fine & look forward to seeing what I get with the next one!We looked all over for a replacement dog throw like the one we bought from Costco years and years ago (still in use BTW). This at least looked like it so we gave it a shot. While it is larger than the one from Costco, it in no way compares. After one wash it began to fray and fall apart. We have it this now for less than 2 months and it is only weeks away from the dumpster. Of note, we do have an Aussie puppy and she does tend to chew, however, the majority of the issues appear to have been caused by one cycle in the washer. It does not hold up at all. Keep looking and if you find something, let me know too. Thx.When I started looking for a throw for our dogs' favorite couch, I was astounded by how expensive and gorgeous many of them are on the web. Geez, I wish my furniture looked like those. Anyway, I decided to give this one a try since it was so cheap even though I wasn't thrilled that no one had any idea of what color the fabric(s) would be. We lucked out--ours is solid black on one side and all blue on the other. It was definitely the right purchase for us as it's durable, large enough to drape over a long couch, and the dogs immediately jumped up and sprawled out on it all evening. What can I say? They're spoiled, but they don't expect caviar. If you think about it moving blankets (which is basically what these are) are excellent as dog blankets. They aren't expensive (or particularly lovely for that matter) but, in my case, they protect the car very well from wet, muddy dogs. They seem to wear well and all my dog friends love them for their practicality. These are not very thick so do think about buying two in the winter so the dogs can nest a little better.By the image you would imagine the possibility of getting a somewhat attractive blanket. Don't count on it. I'm glad I only ordered one because it is pretty ugly. Probably will last a long time for a pet blanket, but I was hoping for something attractive enough to throw on a sofa. Not so much. The one I got is dark brown on one side and pieced together 3/4 brown and 1/4 pale blue on the other with rather an ugly seam and a bright electric blue trim. I will keep it as it's too heavy to send cheaply. Live and learn...I was a little disappointed..not at all like the picture. I bought it to use inside our home but it's way too ugly for that! Good price for what you get, I suppose. It would be fine for the car...we'll see how it holds up in the washer.I like these blankets for my vehicle to keep the animal hair off my upholstery. They are very large and work great.
